Hiking

On our first day in the Rila mountains, we went hiking in the Rila Monastery Nature Park and successfully reached the Cave of Saint Ivan Rilski. He has been living there for many years as a hermit (at the beginning of the 10th century), before he founded the Rila Monastery with his followers. The area has a very rich flora and fauna, including wolfs and brown bears. But fortunately, we only met some free horses and could listen to the sound of many birds and crickets.
