The City Garden (Gradska gradina) is a small park in the heart of the city. In December, it hosts a German Christmas Market, whereas during summer time, it is a very popular place for young people to meet in the evening. The national theater of Bulgaria, named after the famous poet and playwright Ivan Vasov, is located just next to the park.
