Martenitsi

During the first week of March, people give this "Martenitsi" to close friends and family to wish them health and a long life. They wear it on their left wrist until they see a first sign of spring, for example a blossoming tree or a stork. Then they remove it and tie it around a tree, like on this picture. Of course, these are from last year :)
